Chip-Off Training

Utah Tech’s chip-off training is a hands-on intensive exploration of chip-off methods tools and techniques. The duration of the chip-off training is three days and the topics covered are:

  • Cell phone disassembly and basic cell phone repair
  • Heat monitored NAND, EMMC, and UFS chip removal
  • Removing and repairing the BGA chip
  • Identifying and Reading the chip
  • Binary image extraction
  • Making sense of an Unstructured Hex Dump
  • Making sense of a Structured Hex Dump
  • Chip-off equipment exploration and testing
